Where could I find sound/music activated christmas lights?

A friend of mine had sound activated christmas lights in her apartment.
I am not sure if she had them hooked up to her CD Player/radio, but the whole idea seemed awesome. The christmas lights she had would blink to the beats of the music from her radio. Where could I find or how could I build lights which can do that? Are there any stores that supply them?..or what supplies would I need to build sound activated lights? Any info is welcome.

Dj Lighting: Liven Up The Dance Floor

 

DJs create magic with their music. But that’s not all. DJs can also create good lighting effects in order to liven up almost any occasion. The lighting effects a DJ can set up can add life to the dance floor, or spice up a wedding reception. A DJ can also suggest the perfect theme for any occasion, and play music catering to that theme.

An experienced DJ can create many kinds of lighting effects. These are:

1. Specific themes: In a get-together with a religious theme, a DJ would provide lights in soothing colors, such as, white lights and fresco style set ups. Whereas, in a wedding reception, the DJ could liven up the environment by using laser shows and bubble effects in various colors. Experienced DJs can work together with event organizers when deciding upon the theme to be used in an occasion.

1. Beacons: DJs can use these to add color to any set up. Beacons in various colors can come in handy when adding lively greens, reds, and purple signature effects to complement lighting effects.

1. Black lights: These come in handy in Halloween set ups. Black lights or UV lights make everyday objects glow in the dark. This can work great in tandem with scary music. Besides, these can also work when certain objects need to be highlighted in a theme. For instance, a newly wed couple might wish their names to be highlighted in order to make them stand out from the rest of the set up.

1. Bubble machines: These can create bubbles in various colors. The bubbles reflect the lights set up by the DJ, thereby creating a magical environment. Plus, these are a hit among kids, and thus can be used to liven up birthday bashes for children as well.

1. Laser show: This can only be afforded by affluent event hosts, as they are quite expensive to set up and run. But, for those who can afford it, laser show can be the ultimate crowd pleaser. All that remains is some foot tapping music to go with it, and the laser show lends new life to any gathering. Especially, in disco themed parties, the lasers can be programmed to shine according to the beat of the music, which looks wonderful.

The DJ is no longer just a person who knows how to play music. He/she can transform a party into something unique, and let everyone have a blast, more than they ever imagined.
